Consumer shares were mostly flat ahead of Friday’s open.

In consumer stocks news, Carnival (CCL, CUK) was down 0.5% after it said it will continue to sail to Cuba, even after the Trump administration plans to alter the U.S.’ policy towards Cuba. Trump is expected to announce on Friday a revised Cuba policy, which would stop the flow of U.S. cash to the island’s military while maintaining diplomatic relations and service by U.S. airlines and cruise ships. Carnival says new cruises are being planned for Cuba with its Carnival Cruise Line and Holland America Line. It said it also has requested approval for our other brands to travel to Cuba.
